Winnipeg Community Resource Networks

Through the establishment of Community Resource networks, individuals and agencies are working together to build community capacity and provide access to local information through Internet access sites such as public libraries, school, senior's centers, and Community Access Program sites.

To date in 12 community resource networks across the Winnipeg, 178 public access sites have been established including all 20 branches of Winnipeg Public Library system. There are many rural sites as well as Northern sites.

Below are the current Communty Networks.

Central Winnipeg Community Network
The CWCN is made up of Access Sites in the Central Winnipeg Area. As of March 29th 2002, there are 53 Internet Access Sites located in Central Winnipeg. This site was launched on April 11, 2002. Go

Fort Garry Community Network
is maintained by the Fort Garry Community Resource Network, a volunteer group of residents and local organization representatives interested in providing affordable Internet access in our community and in building and sustaining a safe, healthy and prosperous community Go

Fort Rouge-River Heights Community Network
is maintained by the Fort Rouge-River Heights Community Resource Network, a volunteer group of residents and local organization representatives interested in providing affordable Internet access in our community and in building and sustaining a safe, healthy and prosperous community. Go

North End - Point Douglas Resource Network
encourages community members and organizations belonging to this neighbourhood to become involved in the construction and maintenance of a website which encompasses the wealth of resources, history, diversity, and spirit found in this unique neighbourhood. Go

St James-Assiniboia Community Network
This website exists to tell you (and our envious neighbours from other parts of Winnipeg and the world) all about the great stuff we have going on for all members of our community in St. James-Assiniboia. Go

St. Vital Community Resource Network
a volunteer group of residents and local organization representatives interested in providing affordable Internet access in our community and in building and sustaining a safe, healthy and prosperous St. Vital community. Go

Transcona Community Network
Facilitates coordination of community based services in Transcona to address community issues. In essence, TCN shares a system of resources to provide the most appropriate services to the community it serves. Go
